Title The Effect of Magnetic Field on The Germination and Seedling Growth of The Seeds of Black Pine (Pinus Nigra Arnold.)

Abstract The aim of this research is to determine the effects of magnetic field (MF) on black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold). The seeds were exposed to MF strengths in the range of 3.8-4.8 mT on the movable ground with the velocity of 1m/sec. The seeds were exposed to MF of different strengths (1 time, 3 times, 9 times and 15 times). The control and experimental groups were germinated at optimum conditions in the climate chamber and in an incubator (25 °C). Germination percentage was measured in order to determine optimum MF strengths at 4th, 7th, 14nd, 21th and 28th days. The seedling heights and root lengths of the seeds exposed to MF were determined at the 60th day. As a result, the germination percentages, root length and seedling growth were higher in the MF applications than that in the control group.
