Title A Research on Determining Appropriate Corn Varieties to Konya Conditions

Abstract Grain yield and some plant traits were examined in this study evaluating the performance of single cross corn genotypes developed within the scope of the project of National Corn Integrated Crop Management. 21 single cross combinations of Sakarya Corn Research Station Directorate and 3 check varieties were planted in the Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute fields in 2011 according to randomized block design with 3 replications. In this study, flowering time, plant height, first ear height, moisture content of grain at harvest and grain yield specialties were examined. At the result of the research, it is determined that flowering time, plant height, first ear height, moisture content of grain at harvest and grain yield specialties of single crosses genotypes were changed between, respectively, 70-77 days, 225-292 cm, 95-131 cm, %14.2-%26.0, and 660-1618 kg/da. 11 of the hybrids examined were over the average of experimental with grain yield aspect. 12 of them were under the average of experimental with moisture content of grain at harvest aspect. It is concluded that ADA 9.10, ADA 9.4, Ada 9.7, ADA 6.15, and ADA 9.8 of 21 single cross corn genotypes were promising for region conditions in terms of specialties examined.
