Abstract The aim of this study is to give evaluation of ‘Apple Variety Trials’ which were carried out continuously at Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute between 1964-2006 years. Phenological observations and pomological analysis were made and yield data were recorded on 115 apple varieties. Also, morphological developments of trees were determined. Data were evaluated by using modified ‘Weighted- Rankit’ method based on the parameters of yield, regularity of yield, pre-harvest fruit drop, earliness, fruit size, fruit colour, fruit quality and flesh firmness. 27 apple varieties were suggested to growers as summer, autumn and winter varieties for economical growing at Marmara Region and similar ecologies.
