Abstract This research was carried out to determine certain morphological and chemical attributes in 17 types of Demir apple cultivar grown densely in Rize province during 2006-2008 years. Fruit characteristics such as fruit weight, fruit length and diameter, kernel number, fruit firmness, skin and flesh color, soluble solids content, pH and titreable acidity were evaluated. In addition, flowering dates of the types were recorded. In the types evaluated, fruit weight, fruit length and fruit width were in the ranges of 60.7 – 163.4 g, 51.4-66.6 mm and 52.5-72.6 mm, respectively. Soluble dry matter and titreable acidity varied from 0.7-1.2 % and 10.6-13.0%, respectively. In terms of these attributes, the tree 17 was selected as the best clon. Flowering dates ranged from 20 May to 1 June.
