Abstract In this study; it is aimed to develop a nonfunctional belief and implementation attitude scale about pregnancy, puerperality and infant-care. This scale aims to determine future mothers’ attitudes towards implementations, which are harmful and useless, on their own care and infantcare. The scale is a likert attitude scale which has four sub-dimensions. In order to constitute sub-dimensions of this scale interview form is used (n=199). For the suitability of the factor analysis of the data obtained from pretests is examined through Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient and Batlett Sphericity test for sphericity. The scale reorganized after the pretests consists of fifty eight items and four sub-dimensions which are about pregnancy (twenty-three items), birth (eight items), puerperality (nine items), infant-care (eighteen items). The items’ load point in subdimensions changes between twenty-two and fifty-eight. The ratio of statement of total variance is found 49% and cronbach alpha reliability co-effiecient is found eighty-seven. In conclusion; it is suggested that every dimension measures one aim, these dimensions are understood by everybody, the scale has measured desired structure and it has realized the aim of measuring.
Keywords Nonfunctional implementations, reliability of the scale.
