Abstract Any work can be considered apart from its writer and the society in which the work was published. The period in which Peyami Safa lived was the beginning of a turning point for both Turkey and the world. The writer who gained popularity under his novelist title, discussed the subjects, questioned in his period, such as suspicion, hesitation, hatred of aim, solidarity, fear and aimed to reach from individual to universal. Peyami Safa supported the principle of “life is basic of the novel” and grounded novel technique on this. Writer, generally used to take life as not following time chronologically. The writer who make alive the principle he adopted, include his own life, observations and experiences at differents levels to his works. Thus, the writer formed a profound intertextuality between his life and works. Intertextuality exist as citation and reference openly, and as allusion and hidden citation equivocally. From time to time, it is seen that these concepts intertangle and not understood so well. Whilst, ıntertextuality in the novels is formed as allusion of protagonists, usage of similar places and repetititon of the same or similar sentences, writer’s relationship with his own life is formed as selection of one of the protagonists as his spokesman. İt is possible to range the common features of the protagonist and Peyami Safa in Bir Tereddüdün Romanı as their solidarity, illnesses, dionysiac types, authorship, newspaper studies and etc. Intrinsic narration is another concept which can be related with intertextuality due to its usage in novels and citation feature. The writer grounded the fiction of the novel on two intrinsic narrations. In this leaflet, the relationship between Peyami Safa’s life and his Works with Bir Terteddüdün Romanı will be dealt with in the concept of Intertextuality.
